Thibodeau defends ‘Bogus’ Bogans
It’s no secret that Bulls shooting guard Keith Bogans isn’t winning over legions of fans with is current play. In fact to be considered a shooting guard don’t you have to—you know—shoot? What is even more of a brain teaser is why does Head Coach Tom Thibodeau continue to night after night, insert Bogans into the lineup, especially when he has two very talented bench players at that position who night after night get more minutes and have higher productivity than Bogans? Well the coach gave some insight into that question and things got a little tense. I’m concerned about our team. It’s [...]
Gameday Recap: Timberwolve Takedown
CHICAGO — Breathe easy was the motto of the night, cake-walk is a term that is coming to mind right now in describing the game pounding of the T-Pups in Chicago Saturday. The Bulls welcomed the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves into town and everything pretty much went according to script; the Bulls stampeded the Wolves 113-82 to win their fifth straight game. The win puts the Bulls at 14-8 and 9-2 at home making Chicago six games above .500 for the first time since the 2006-07 season. The Bulls are 3 games in front of Indiana (whom they play next) and have [...]
Gameday Recap: D-Rose Delivers a Laker Lashing
CHICAGO — The Bulls may not have been able to pull out a win against the titians of the Eastern Conference and the Lakers were expecting that Bulls team to show up Friday night. What actually happened and what Phil Jackson was expecting to happen were two very different things. The Lakers rolled into Chicago with cocky hopes and left with a 88-84 defeat. It was a much needed win for the Bulls and a definite confidence booster for Chicago; the Bulls had dropped seven straight to the Lakers dating back to 2006. The Bulls said ‘no more’ and stomped their [...]
Gameday Recap: The Name’s Rose, D-Rose
One name: Derrick Rose. That was the sound of the Cavaliers doom Wednesday night as the Bulls rolled into the Q and defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers. Joakim Noah still may be a little outspoken when he said “Cleveland sucks.” but they definitely weren’t good. The game comes as the third of a three game winning streak for the Bulls who are now own a 12-8 record, and improve to 5-6 on the road. The two teams meet three more times, the next two being in Chicago, but the troubling part in Wednseday night’s win, was that it was almost a loss. The Bulls may [...]
D-League Spotlight: Kyle Weaver & Othyus Jeffers
If you follow the Iowa Energy (and kudos if you do), you may have heard of Kyle Weaver and Othyus Jeffers. Both players had an incredible week last week in the NBA Developmental League and both are having great seasons as well. Othyus Jeffers get the honorable mention this week as he has an average of 15.0 ppg in his last three games; not too bad. In his last game Jeffers scored 18 points in a 93-85 win over the Dakota Wizards. But the Player of the Week goes to Kyle Weaver. Weaver is playing absolutely out of his mind [...]
D-League Spotlight
When people think basketball they think the NBA. Why would you think of anything else? Perhaps one might say College Basketball but that really doesn’t garner national attention until March Madness. As certain as the sun rises each morning, when you say basketball people think NBA, never does anyone say “Oh you mean like the D-League?” Say what? The D-League? Is that like the D-List in Hollywood? It’d be the same as someone saying baseball and thinking of AAA ball before nationally televised, networked and reported Major League Baseball. But that’s exactly what the D-League is. In fact, D-League is lazy and almost derogatory, so from now [...]

Gameday Recap: Two In A Row
The Bulls were looking for a way to end their short little home stand with a win. They found a way to do that Monday night as they silenced the Thunder 99-90. It was a game the Bulls very much needed and very much could have, and with the win they finish their little two game home stand 2-0. The Bulls are now not-so bad 11-8 own first place in the Central with a one game hold over the Indiana Pacers. They also improve their home record to a very impressive 7-2.
Hot damn! The Bulls finally managed to pull out a win. After having dropped the previous two contests to the Magic and Celtics respectively, Chicago welcomed the Houston Rockets into the United Center and trampled them 119-116. Well maybe it wasn’t a convincing win and maybe it wasn’t against a good team, but nevertheless a win is a win. In fact the Bulls almost loss. If it wasn’t for a buzzer beating 3 point shot by Derrick Rose, the Bulls would have dropped their third straight game and second consecutive home game. “I think that was the first time [...]
