It was a fun night for everyone in Chicago as the Bulls won 99-90

Gameday Recap: Two In A Row

Carlos Boozer enjoyed his best night as a Bull scoring 29 points

The Bulls were looking for a way to end their short little home stand with a win. They found a way to do that Monday night as they silenced the Thunder 99-90. It was a game the Bulls very much needed and very much could have, and with the win they finish their little two game home stand 2-0. The Bulls are now not-so bad 11-8 own first place in the Central with a one game hold over the Indiana Pacers. They also improve their home record to a very impressive 7-2.

It was a great night for the Bulls, but an exceptionally good night for one Bull in particular. Carlos Boozer had another great game and that makes tonight his second consecutive game where he posted 20 or more points. Boozer made up for the lack of play by Derrick Rose by posting 29 points with 12 rebounds and an assist. Rose on the other hand had only 11 points with 4 rebounds and 9 assists. He was also a miserable 3 for 13 from the field. 11 points isn’t bad if your not Derrick Rose, but unfortunately for Rose, being himself was his handicap tonight. Luol Deng helped make up for the lack of D-Rose super power by contributing an impressive 19 points while racking up 8 rebounds. Deng also went a second straight game where he played 40-plus minutes. The thing to note in that stat is this game didn’t go to overtime like the previous game Deng went over 40 minutes. Joakim Noah piled up 12 assists and scored 6 points in his 21 minutes on the court. Taj Gibson and Kyle Korver both contributed off the bench, Korver more so in terms of stats as he managed 13 points in 21 minutes of relief. Gibson‘s contribution was more so just relief than a statisical show; he played 26 minutes but only scored 4 points.

Tonight’s game was a game the Bulls needed and it was a game they had. Carlos Boozer had his highest scoring game of his season so far and showed that he can easily gel with this team. Luol Deng is also coming into his own this season and Bulls fans can only hope he keeps it up. Derrick Rose had an off night but it can be justified in one way; Rose had an off night but Boozer was there to bail him out. That’s a very promising potion that Bulls fans everywhere will be able and willing to drink. Here’s an even tastier one: what happens when Carlos Boozer and Derrick Rose both have hot night? Let me know when that drink is available.
