Chicago Bulls Weekly Roundup

W 118-85 Derrick Rose was clearly still feeling some pain from his bruised hip during this home game against the Knicks, but it didn’t seem to bother him all that much.  He dropped 29 en route to a shellacking of the crappy Knickerbockers.  The Bulls got solid contributions from everyone, with 7 players scoring in double figures.
W 115-109 The Knicks again?  Yup, this time in New York, but with the same result.  As trade winds swirled and Salmons was held out of the lineup, the entire starting lineup came through big time on both ends and played a ton of [...]

Joakim Noah Says Fruity Drinks FTW

AUTHOR: zoner | IN: Talkin' Bulls, Video | COMMENTS: None Yet

Apparently all you need is some fruity drinks and your feet will be good to go. It’s probably not as simple as that, but Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah is back playing with the Bulls after missing 8 games due to a foot injury.
Beyond getting his shoes adjusted to help the problem, Noah told reporters that he was trying all means to get healthy again, including fruity drinks.
“Somebody at the gym said, ‘Drink this, it’s good for feet’. So I drank it. Apparently it is some kind of fruit drink that is good for your feet. Whatever helps.”
I agree. Whatever [...]

Beat Up Derrick Rose Beats Up On the Knicks

AUTHOR: zoner | IN: Derrick Rose, Talkin' Bulls | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Bulls moved back to .500 after Derrick Rose made 14 of 18 shots and netted 29 points in just 27 minutes against the lowly Knicks.
7 Bulls scored in double figures as Mike D’ Antoni likely daydreamed about LeBron in Knicks blue, or maybe even why he didn’t take the Bulls gig when he had the chance. The Bulls had 10 steals, 9 blocked shots and dominated the boards. They also shot 61% from the field.
There’s talk of Al Harrington to the Bulls, but I’d rather have David Lee. Why don’t people talk about Lee — another free [...]

W 109-101 It looked like the Bulls were going to blow another one against Indiana, a common theme the past few seasons.  Then the 4th quarter came and it was like they got a second wind.  Without Noah down low, the Bulls still managed to bang it out on the glass.  They had 4 players in double figures, with Deng notching 23 points and 11 rebounds and Rose and Salmons each dropping 21 points.
L 87-97 It’s tough to blame the Bulls for this one.  The only real problem that the lackluster effort came at home.  Other than that it was [...]

Derrick Rose Injured, X-Rays Negative

AUTHOR: zoner | IN: Derrick Rose | COMMENTS: None Yet

Breathe through your nose, Chicago. Derrick Rose got injured Wednesday night against the Magic, but it looks as if it isn’t too serious.
Early in the first quarter, Rose held a dribble behind the three-point arc. He received a pick from Taj Gibson and blew by the Magic defenders and got to the basket for a lay-in. Waiting for him there was Dwight Howard. Howard went for the block and Rose was fouled. Rose hit the floor hard and lay there for a spell. He got up and made the free throw but then had to leave the game.
After initial x-rays [...]

Chicago Bulls Weekly Roundup

L 82-90 So much for that 5-game win streak.  The inconsistent Bulls had a huge letdown at home against the Clippers.  Their 38% from the field was atrocious and the 20 turnovers definitely did not help.  Deng was somewhat effective with 18 points, but for the most part this was an uninspired effort.
L 103-106 Another game the Bulls should have and could have won, but they couldn’t pull it out in overtime against the 76ers.  Rose’s 2 free throws with 1:41 left tied it at 98 but the Bulls got worked in the overtime period.  Rose had 30 points, 4 [...]

Tyrus Thomas Suspended For Heat Game

AUTHOR: zoner | IN: Talkin' Bulls | COMMENTS: None Yet

This can’t be good.  Tyrus Thomas continues his up and down career with the Bulls with a one-game suspension for tonight’s game against the Heat. From AP:
Chicago Bulls forward Tyrus Thomas has been suspended for one game for conduct detrimental to the team.
Thomas, who earlier in the season was sidelined seven weeks with a broken left forearm, will miss Saturday’s contest against the Miami Heat at the United Center.
The team did not give specifics on the reason for the suspension.
Maybe when a rookie like Taj Gibson starts taking your minutes you get too frustrated. It will great to hear why [...]
