Did the NBA Draft improve your team’s odds to win it all? On paper the answer is likely yes. But if you’re looking at the world of NBA sports betting, chances are it probably didn’t move the meter too much one way or the other. Initially it doesn’t look as if the draft created too much of a stir.
I found some updated NBA lines and they look a lot like they did near the end of last year.
The Clips drafted phenom Blake Griffin, but they are still +10000 to win it all — the highest odds when it comes to NBA sports betting. Apparently the T-Wolves could draft 4 more point guards and it wouldn’t matter. They are still +10000.
The Lakers remain the favorite at just +230. Not far behind are the Cavs with newly-acquired Shaq at +325. The Celtics should get Garnett back and so they are at +550. The Magic may have Vinsanity but they are back at +850 to win it all. The Spurs got DeJuan Blair in the draft and traded for Richard Jefferson. They look to be a value bet at +1100.
Oh, and our beloved Bulls? +4000. Whoa. After free agency begins we’ll see how they move again. If you like to bet on basketball might be worth it to take an early shot!
