Still Shocked About DeJuan Blair

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA Draft | COMMENTS: 10 Comments

I just can’t get over the fact that the Bulls passed on 2 opportunities to draft DeJuan Blair and that the Spurs got him in the 2nd round with the 37th pick. It makes me all the more frustrated when I read this: “He has an instinctual sense of spacing, a solid back-to-the-basket game, and off-the-charts rebounding numbers (During the 08/09 season, he successfully rebounded the ball 31% of the time). Add on the fact that the man is a pit bull when on the floor, and it becomes clear that Blair is an absolute steal. The most frequently expressed [...]

Chicago Bulls Post-Draft Thoughts

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA Draft | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

I really wanted DeJuan Blair. Remarkably, he fell all the way to 37, where the Spurs picked him. Will he be the next Corliss Williamson or the next Tractor Traylor? Neither. He’s going to be the first DeJuan Blair. 2 things he will do regardless of what else happens in his career– he will rebound and put back shots. That is a huge, huge skill. He will keep offensive possessions going and be a beast down low. The Spurs get the steal of the draft. The Bulls instead opted for the talented James Johnson from Wake Forest. The immediate concern [...]

Bulls Rumor Roundup

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA Draft | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Oregon Live: Kirk Hinrich is telling friends that he is being traded to the Blazers. CBS Sports: Updated mock has Bulls taking Johnson, Ellington Chad Ford: Chicago has talked to the Nets, Bobcats and Pacers about swapping No. 16 and No. 26 to get into the lottery. It sounds like the Bulls are down to one potential trade partner in the lottery. The Nets are leaning strongly toward keeping their pick at No. 11. And if the Bobcats made a promise to Williams at No. 12, they’re out, too. That leaves the Pacers at No. 13. ESPN:  Chicago, by all [...]

Eddy Curry: Hype Sequel

AUTHOR: | IN: Ex-Bulls | COMMENTS: None Yet

True Hoop has a post up today with the title “Huge News For the Knicks“. The story describes Eddy Curry’s new found dedication to training and fitness: “Multiple reports say Curry’s dedication to his craft has been reinvigorated, and he is working hard to lose weight and get more athletic. Scroll back through his Twitter feed. You’ll find plenty of people asking him where he is, and why he isn’t around to hang out, and he just about always responds that he’s in Michigan working out. There is plenty of talk of speed and explosiveness, and even a mention of [...]
